January 2008 Newsletter:
The years get shorter every year! Remember when we were kids and time seemed to stretch out forever? And now – time seems to fly.
Speaking of time, it is time again for Do Dues Day on January 8th from 10 AM – 2 PM. Dues for 2008 will $10.00. In addition to paying your dues also look for the opportunity to sign-up for our annual Whale Watching trip. It will be held on February 12th. There will also be an opportunity at the next scheduled meeting on February 5th. This has always been a fun outing. More information will be available.
In October, 28 people took off for Catalina. Weather had been a concern but the 2 days of the trip turned out to be picture perfect. The travelers stayed at the historic Zane Grey Inn which had a beautiful view of the harbor. The group traveled to Twin Harbors to get an overall view of the Island and the saw some of the devastation wrought by the fire that consumed so much. Dinner was at the Catalina Country Club and topped off an otherwise beautiful day. Everyone had a wonderful time and was looking forward to a return in 2008.
There will be NO MEETING in January as it falls on the holiday. The next scheduled meeting will be on Tuesday, February 5th. Social time will begin at 7 PM and the meeting at 7:30 PM.
Your Sailing Club hopes you had a special year in 2007 and that this New Year will be even better.
